Sports Events
Breckland Council recognises the importance of sport and recreation to the residents of Breckland and aims to encourage participation by all parts of the community.
The council is supporting and funding the development of sport because sport makes a positive contribution to the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the local area, along with contributing to quality of life and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Sport can pay huge dividends in terms of:
- improved health,
- social inclusion,
- community safety,
- realising everyone’s potential,
- lifelong learning,
- environmental sustainability and
- regeneration.
Breckland Council has a dedicated Sports Development Team to promote sporting participation, either through the direct provision of safe, suitable and quality services or indirectly by supporting the efforts of other organisations and individuals.
